Kids Act Class Descriptions

Imagine! Create! Perform! Whether your child is meant to be on stage or needs a little more confidence in speaking in front of their classmates, Kids Act can help motivate, inspire, and enrich your child. Through playing theater games, creating characters and stories, and performing for friends and family, Kids Act encourages students to manifest their talents and abilities through the joy of creative expression. Going on Stage! (10 Week Sessions)

Students create their own characters, scenery, and plays. They perform their original plays, along with a short piece of Shakespearean verse, for family and friends in a professional theater.

Stories in Performance (6-8 Week Sessions)

Imagine! Create! Perform! Whether your child is meant to be on stage, or needs a little more confidence speaking in front of their classmates, Kids Act can help motivate, inspire and enrich your child. Students are introduced to improvisational skills through theater games and help to adapt a classic children’s story for performance on the last day of class.

Teen Acting Workshop - Going on Stage! ages 11-14

Teens create their own characters, scenery, and plays. They perform their original plays, along with a short piece of Shakespearean verse, for family and friends in a professional theater.

Acting Camps

Students will play theater games, paint their own scenery, adapt and perform a classic story for a special performance for families and friends at the end of the camp.

Playwrights Project Camps

In this 5-day camp, participants will be guided through the process of taking an idea and turning it into a finished play that will be read aloud by professional actors on the last day of camp.

Private Lessons / Audition and Performance Study

Aleta Barthell can be your Acting Coach! Aleta Barthell is available for private lessons to help students hone specific skills to get ready for auditions and performances. This preparation has proven valuable to actors, dancers, singers, and other performers. Lessons are tailored to the individual student. They can include monologue selection, character development, voice work, movement and gesture work, and improvisation.

Aleta Barthell helps actors and other performers prepare for auditions for stage, television, and film. Scheduling is arranged to fit the student's needs. Lessons may be ongoing or booked as needed. Private lessons can be booked at $45 for 45 minutes, and $60 per one hour session. Take your performance to the next level with private lessons!
